What the connection can read
zonevoice_get_status- Check whether the desktop app and this connection are available.
zonevoice_list_workspaces- List only the workspaces authorized for this connection.
zonevoice_search_recordings- Find literal keyword matches in saved titles, summaries, notes, and transcripts.
zonevoice_get_recording- Read an overview, saved summary, actions, mind map, or manual notes.
zonevoice_get_transcript- Read original transcript excerpts with speaker labels, segment IDs, and timestamps in seconds.
These tools read existing results. They do not record, transcribe, summarize, edit, delete, execute tasks, or return raw audio or voiceprint vectors. Memory facts and history are available inside ZoneVoice, not through MCP.
Search uses literal keywords, not semantic retrieval. Date filters refer to creation or import time, not an unknown meeting date. Larger results are paginated; a client needs to follow the returned cursor before treating a recording as complete.
Use meeting notes in Claude or Codex
For example, ask: “Search my approved recordings for technical notes. Read the original commitment and give the recording title, speaker label, and timestamp. Flag anything the source does not establish.”
- Check connection status and authorized workspaces.
- Search recordings for the literal phrase technical notes.
- Read the saved actions, then fetch the matching transcript and surrounding segments.
- Distinguish generated tasks from original transcript text. Keep the recording ID, segment IDs, and timestamps with the conclusion.
- Return to the recording in ZoneVoice to inspect the source. The preview does not yet return clickable playback deep links.
The offline sample shows why the surrounding excerpt matters: the commitment begins at 00:21, while “Monday” is in the next segment. Its generated task owner is missing. An agent should not treat that summary as a fully verified assignment.
Choose the data a connection can receive
MCP starts disabled. Open MCP → Connections, enable access, create a named client connection, and select its allowed workspaces. No workspace is preselected. Scope includes future recordings added to those workspaces and excludes Trash.
The generated configuration contains the installed helper’s path and a private connection token. Keep it in private client configuration, not in a shared repository. ZoneVoice and the client must run on the same computer, and ZoneVoice must stay running. Quitting the app stops reads; a remote cloud task cannot use this local connection directly.
Local processing, then an explicit text handoff
The path is: saved local notes → authorized local MCP helper → your AI client → that client’s model provider, if it uses one. The last step may leave your computer. Local processing does not control where a Claude or Codex client handles the meeting context it receives.

Review access and verify revocation
MCP → Access history shows the connection, tool, time, resource IDs, and result. Logs stay locally, with a default limit of 30 days and 10,000 events. They do not store search terms, transcript text, or tokens, and cannot track what an external client does with received text.
- Make an allowed read and check its event in Access history.
- Revoke that connection in Connections.
- Request the same recording again using the old connection. It should be refused with
ACCESS_REVOKED, rather than return fresh content. - Distinguish a new tool result from text already in the client’s conversation. Revocation cannot recall earlier copies.
Turning off the global switch pauses all connections. To change a connection’s workspace scope, revoke it and create one with the intended scope.
